5cm quadratischen, Tumia LAC handgemachten, glaslasten Talavera Fliesen, hergestellt in der Kolonialstadt San Miguel de Allende, mittels Siebdruck. The tiles are generally about 5 mm thick. As they are handmade, there are small differences between the tiles.
Our tiles can be laid in different places, walls, kitchens, bathrooms, bars, counters, tables, stairs or hallway walls. They are waterproof and can therefore also be installed in “semi-wet” places, such as in the bathroom as a splash guard, but not in completely wet environments, such as in the shower or in the swimming pool.
They are not made for use as floor tiles. They are not really suitable for outdoor use as the surface can break in frost. If that’s okay for you, you can also mount the tiles outside. We cannot guarantee heat-resistant properties.
You can clean the tiles just like normal ceramic tiles. We recommend abrasion-resistant, environmentally friendly cleaners.
Tumia Talavera tiles are handmade in screen printed in Mexico. They have a long tradition dating back to the 16/17th century. The Spanish have come to Mexico and brought their knowledge of pottery and tile making, and this tradition has been preserved to this day with remarkable techniques. Talavera de la Reina, a Spanish village, distant and famous for its ceramic craft, has borrowed its name from the bricks of Talavera.
